Mon - Fri - Full Time - 40 hours per week

Who We Are:

SNHMC has nine operating room suites, 25 pre-op/PACU bays, and a sterile processing department. Hours are flexible, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour day shifts available. The OR has a dedicated call team Sunday through Thursday nights beginning at 7PM, making OR call minimal. Services range from elective and non-elective procedures, including neurological, orthopedic, gynecological, urological, bariatric, colorectal, vascular, ENT, general, breast, and plastics. Surgical services are growing and evolving, utilizing the latest technology for the wide variety of procedures we perform. The OR also offers Periop-101 and advancements.

About the Job:

The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to Surgical Services leadership team. The incumbent will demonstrate organizational ability in coordinating divisional workflow, will coordinate administrative support functions for the division and administrator, and will effectively communicate in a professional and confidential manner with all internal and external customers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide administrative support to the Surgical Services leadership team. Receive and screen incoming requests to the department making referrals, acting when appropriate and providing consistent follow-up as necessary.

  • Compose, type and proofread correspondence making necessary corrections when requested.

  • Communicate effectively in a diplomatic manner with all internal and external customers.

  • Establish and maintain a functional and cross-referenced filing system. Ensure the maintenance of up-to-date organizational references

  • Work must be performed on-site.

  • Use standard office software and learn and adapt to organization-specific systems used to perform administrative tasks.

Who You Are:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of administrative support, preferably in a customer service facing or healthcare setting, required.

  • Knowledge of standard office equipment.

  • Knowledge of common Microsoft based office software applications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

  • Effective prioritization and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work with confidential information.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.

  • Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
