Our team of dedicated and talented Cooks, Workers, and Diet Clerks maintain a place of comfort for staff, patients, and families of all backgrounds to relax and feel at ease with hot meals, coffee & a variety of courses. Both the Food Services and Dietary teams collaborate to ensure all dietary restrictions are maintained and to keep our patient-centered values across all areas of the medical center.
About the Job:
Works in the kitchen in the preparation and production of food products for the café, catering, and patient nutrition areas. Various food items are prepared in response to the needs of patients, the café, and specific functions, while meeting all standards of quality, consistency, and safe food production.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepares and cooks foods to order or in batches with limited supervision or instruction.
- Follows recipes and/or product directions for a variety of food item
- Taste’s products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
- Complies with all department HACCP policies and procedures including recording of temperatures, proper food handling and storage, labelling and dating
Who You Are:
- 3-4 years of experience in related food service cooking production required
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience required. Some Culinary education preferred.
- ServSafe Certification preferred.
