About the Job

The Total Rewards Lead – Retirement Administration & Benefits Compliance is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading the administration, coordination, and compliance execution of the organization’s retirement programs, with additional operational oversight of health and welfare benefits administration. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for retirement plan operations and regulatory compliance, ensuring accurate administration in accordance with ERISA, IRS, DOL, ACA, and other federal and state requirements. While this position does not have formal people management responsibility, it provides day-to-day functional leadership, guidance, and escalation support to team members and partners across Total Rewards.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day administration of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans in compliance with plan documents and regulatory requirements

  • Serve as the primary resource for retirement compliance execution, including ERISA, IRS, DOL, and PBGC requirements

  • Coordinate with recordkeepers, auditors, actuaries, and consultants to support audits, Form 5500 filings, testing, valuations, and participant notices

  • Review and validate retirement-related data, reports, and calculations to ensure accuracy and audit readiness

  • Monitor regulatory and legislative changes impacting retirement and benefits programs and provide analysis and recommendations

  • Support retirement plan changes, enhancements, and vendor transitions to ensure compliant implementation

  • Provide functional oversight and escalation support for health and welfare benefits administration, including medical, dental, vision, HSA, and related programs

  • Support compliance execution for health and welfare programs, including ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and ERISA disclosures

  • Execute compliance deliverables and support audit readiness across total rewards programs

  • Lead defined projects related to retirement administration, benefits compliance, vendor coordination, or operational improvements

  • Partner cross-functionally with HR, HRIS, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and external vendors

  • Support data accuracy and system integrity across Workday and benefits vendor platforms

Who You Are / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required (MBA preferred)

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in retirement and/or benefits administration with demonstrated compliance experience

  • Strong working knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL, and ACA requirements

  • Experience supporting retirement plan audits, filings, testing, and vendor coordination

  • Proven ability to lead work, projects, and workflows without direct people management responsibility

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred) and Microsoft Excel

  • Benefits or retirement certifications (CEBS, QKA, CBP) preferred

  • Healthcare or highly regulated industry experience strongly preferred
