Position Overview

This full-scope OB/GYN position offers a rewarding blend of outpatient care, gynecologic surgery, and inpatient responsibilities providing coverage for The Birthplace. Physicians in this role participate in scheduled shifts and back-up coverage to support labor and delivery, obstetric triage, and emergency GYN care. This position plays a key role in delivering comprehensive women’s health services across the medical center and enhancing continuity of care for patients throughout the health system.

The role includes full-scope OB care, routine and complex GYN management, and surgical opportunities in both the OR and ASC. The Birthplace offers 24/7 in-house anesthesia/CRNA coverage—an important advantage not found in many community hospitals. GYN Oncology care is available through our partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal care, well-woman exams, contraceptive counseling, preconception counseling, and management of high-risk pregnancies (with MFM support as needed).
  • Deliver gynecologic care including annual exams, evaluation and treatment of menstrual and menopausal disorders, contraceptive management, and minor in-office procedures.
  • Provide full-scope Birthplace coverage, including management of laboring patients and emergent obstetric and gynecologic situations.
  • Perform gynecologic surgeries in the Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center.
  • Collaborate with nurses, midwives, medical students, and other healthcare professionals to support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in L&D protocols, quality initiatives, and ongoing efforts to maintain high standards of patient-centered care.
  • Work within a system that offers 24/7 full midwifery coverage on L&D/The Birthplace.

Qualifications

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR preferred.
  • Open to new or recent graduates.
  • Strong clinical expertise and commitment to evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
