About the Job:
The Clinical Development Educator is a key member of the Patient Care Services management team, responsible for coordinating and conducting educational activities to maintain and advance the knowledge and skills of clinical staff. This includes onboarding programs, competency assessments, and classes/workshops supporting care for specific patient populations. The role utilizes diverse teaching strategies, program planning, and evaluation techniques, and participates in continuing nursing education and American Heart Association (AHA) life support programs. The position reports to the Director of Nursing Professional Development.
What You’ll Do:
Design, implement, and evaluate orientation programs for new hires.
Conduct gap analyses and prioritize learning needs of clinical staff.
Plan, develop, and coordinate learning activities using adult learning principles.
Facilitate simulation learning activities and maintain simulation technology skills.
Serve as a nurse planner for continuing nursing education and AHA life support programs.
Develop and monitor unit-based competencies in collaboration with nursing leadership.
Coordinate skill assessments for LNAs and CNAs and facilitate annual skills sessions.
Support staff with voice-assisted manikins for AHA programs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are / Requirements:
Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing or enrollment in a Master’s program required; MSN in Nursing Education preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current NH RN license; specialty certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years progressive educational and/or leadership experience with a focus in labor & delivery.
Knowledge & Skills:
Adult learning principles and teaching methods.
Effective written and verbal communication.
Leadership, mentoring, presentation, computer, and organizational skills.
Preferred: AHA BLS Instructor; ACLS and/or PALS Instructor.
