About the Job:

The Clinical Nurse Manager, Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive Care, provides 24/7 operational and clinical leadership for the unit. This role ensures delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care through effective staffing, strong clinical oversight, collaborative team leadership, and compliance with organizational, professional, and regulatory standards. The Manager acts as a transformational leader, guiding staff through change, supporting professional development, and fostering a positive and engaged work environment. Responsibilities include managing daily operations, staffing, budgeting, quality initiatives, service recovery, and performance management.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage daily operations of the Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.

  • Support staff through orientation, education, competency validation, and continued development.

  • Maintain unit compliance with all regulatory, professional, and organizational standards.

  • Ensure effective staffing and scheduling aligned with patient acuity and budgetary guidelines.

  • Partner with leadership to drive quality outcomes and patient satisfaction improvements.

  • Participate in annual budgeting; implement cost‑reduction and resource optimization strategies.

  • Conduct leadership rounds and provide timely service recovery.

  • Lead and support staff involvement in committees, shared governance, and improvement initiatives.

  • Contribute to quality improvement and research activities within the unit.

  • Oversee personnel processes including hiring, coaching, corrective action, evaluations, and terminations.

  • Maintain clinical competence in the Cardiac Telemetry/Progressive Care setting.

Who You Are / Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred

Licensure/Certification

  • Current NH RN licensure

  • BLS required

  • ACLS required (unit‑appropriate)

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive RN leadership experience required

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of regulatory, clinical, and professional nursing standards

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities

  • Strong computer and presentation skills

  • Ability to demonstrate competency (within 90 days) in:

    • Budgeting

    • Staffing & scheduling

    • Fiscal/resource management

    • Hiring, counseling, evaluation

    • Quality improvement

    • Meeting management

    • Service recovery

    • Legal & regulatory compliance

    • Shared governance
