About the Job:
The Registered Nurse – Pediatrics provides compassionate, family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in a busy outpatient pediatric setting. This role supports pediatric providers by delivering high-quality clinical care, performing patient education, and coordinating services to ensure each child and family receives exceptional, personalized attention. You’ll work closely with pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and the care team to address preventive care, acute illness, chronic disease management, and developmental needs in a supportive, kid-friendly environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver nursing care in-person, by telephone (triage), and via telehealth following ANA, AAACN, and Nurse Practice Act standards.
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, advanced practice providers, and other health professionals to develop and implement age-appropriate care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on self-care, medications, nutrition, safety, growth milestones, and wellness.
  • Document all aspects of the nursing process accurately in the medical record.
  • Perform pre-visit planning to support preventive care, immunization schedules, and chronic condition follow-up.
  • Assist with exams, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and point-of-care testing.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed, following pediatric dosage and safety guidelines.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to clinical and clerical staff.
  • Respond to emergencies and follow facility safety protocols.
  • Mentor and coach newly hired staff.
  • Adhere to HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards.
  • Maintain licensure, certifications, and participate in required education and competency programs.

Who You Are:

  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (required); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
  • Licensure/Certifications: RN license in NH, NLC state, or MA (required); BLS/CPR (required); Pediatric or Ambulatory Care Nursing certification (preferred).
  • Experience: One year of professional nursing experience preferred, especially in pediatrics or ambulatory care.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Strong pediatric clinical judgment and family-centered approach.
    • Effective communication with children and caregivers.
    • Ability to adapt to changing environments and work across multiple pediatric practices.
    • Proficiency in EMR systems and Windows-based software.
