Registered Nurse – Cardiopulmonary Rehab

Who We Are:

Cardiac rehabilitation is a medically supervised program to improve your health after a heart attack or heart surgery. It features individually tailored exercise, education and counseling. We are certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and our cardiac rehab team includes: doctors, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, and dietitians.

About the Job:

Provides proper care, patient evaluation and education for outpatients utilizing proper equipment and procedures and following prescribed schedules, physician orders, competencies, and protocols.

What You’ll Do:

  • Performs all aspects of nursing care within practice guidelines and approved hospital policy and procedures.

  • Collaborates with Medical Director or Designee, nurses, department staff, patients and family to develop, and execute a mutually agreeable plan of care.

  • Instructs patients in techniques of telemetry, monitor application and pulse taking.

  • Responds to all emergencies and patient transports as required.

  • Performs clinical assessments at the initial patient evaluation and monitors progress.  Completes timely daily documentation.

  • Provides education to patients and families incorporating evidence-based teaching on various aspects of cardiopulmonary health, including but not limited to risk factor modification, medication, stress management, and coping skills.

Who You Are:

  • Completion of BSN or higher nursing degree

  • Current NH licensure as a Registered Nurse.

  • Current CPR and ACLS certification.

  • Basic knowledge of nutrition and exercise physiology.

  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of educational programs to reduce cardiac risk factors and promote health self-maintenance

  • Understanding and demonstrated compliance with professional code of ethics and standards of practice.

  • Maintain appropriate education and training to ensure working knowledge of current age specific competencies and other competencies specific to the job.

  • Be able to prioritize in caring for multiple patients
