About the Job:

The Chaplain provides spiritual, emotional, existential, and religious support to patients, families, and staff in accordance with the mission, values, and standards of Southern New Hampshire Health (SNHH). The Chaplain offers care that is respectful of each person’s beliefs, culture, tradition, identity, and spiritual or 
non-spiritual worldview.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work is performed on-site

  • Provide spiritual, emotional, and existential care to patients, families, and staff in response to illness, crisis, trauma, grief, death, uncertainty, moral distress, and major life transitions.

  • Participate in on-call coverage, including weekday, overnight, weekend, and holiday rotation as assigned by the department.

  • Must be able to work assigned shifts and adapt to changing patient care needs.

  • Respond promptly to urgent and emergent requests, including deaths, codes, traumas, end-of life situations, family crises, staff crises, and other time-sensitive spiritual care needs.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in theology, Spiritual Care, Religious Studies or a closely 
    related field required. 

  • Based on the scope of position, a minimum of two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is required.
