About the Job:
The Health Information Release Specialist is responsible for managing responses to requests for the release of medical information. Operating within the SNHH Medical Records department, this role ensures all actions comply with hospital, state, and federal guidelines while upholding strict security and confidentiality to protect patient privacy.
What You’ll Do:
Respond to requests for release of information in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Coordinate release functions across various formats including microfilm, CDs, Soarian Clinicals, and EDM to ensure timely responses.
Accurately utilize HIS information systems to retrieve patient data.
Perform and maintain all processing functions and maintenance related to the RMS database in the correspondence area.
Independently manage customer groups and provide thorough follow-through on all requests.
Protect patient privacy and uphold security standards for record access and review.
Who You Are / Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in Health Information Management
Skills: Strong written, verbal, and computer skills are essential.
Abilities: Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to develop and maintain credibility with all levels of healthcare personnel and physicians. Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and the ability to work in a rapid-paced environment.
