Who We Are:
The Birth Place is a 18-room labor, delivery, and post-partum department that cares for 1,200-1,300 babies and their families annually throughout their stay at the Medical Center. The Birth Place is staffed 24/7 by Obstetricians and Certified Midwives. Southern New Hampshire Medical Center’s labor & delivery unit is designed with family in mind. Our teams work with patients to ensure the experience throughout pregnancy, labor and delivery, and post-partum are as easy and comfortable as possible, and that parents & babies have the support and resources necessary to meet their specific healthcare needs and birthing plan goals.
About the Job:
As a member of the Patient Care Services team, the Perinatal Clinical Assistant supports the obstetrical team by assuming a triple role: functioning as a scrub for Caesarean sections/tubal ligations, directly supporting RNs and patients as an LNA, and acting as a Health Unit Coordinator. The Perinatal Clinical Assistant works under the direction of the RN and is accountable to the Unit Director.
What You’ll Do:
- Function as a scrub tech for C-Sections/Tubal ligations
- Glucometer testing, bladder scanning, bilirubin screening
- Decontamination of instruments & room set up/turnover
- Assist in patient ADLs and Unit Coordination
Who You Are:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Completed LNA program & active licensure in the state of NH
- Must have previous LDRP, Scrub or OR experience
