The Birth Place at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center is an 18-room Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum unit providing family-centered care for over 1,000 births annually. As a four-time Magnet-designated facility, we uphold the highest standards of nursing excellence, guided by AWHONN best practices and supported by the OBIX Perinatal Data System for continuous fetal monitoring. Staffed 24/7 by board-certified Obstetricians and Certified Nurse Midwives, our multidisciplinary team—including RNs, LNAs, Health Unit Coordinators, lactation consultants, and pediatric and obstetric providers—delivers compassionate, expert care in a seamless environment that includes a Level II Special Care Nursery with Mass General-affiliated Neonatologists. We promote ongoing education and certification in fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and obstetric emergency management to ensure safe, personalized care for every family.
About the Job:
As a member of the Patient Care Services team, The Birth Place (BP) Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to mothers and babies during ante-, intra- and post-partum periods and includes in-unit Cesarean and other gynecological procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Assess and implement priority-based nursing care and establishes goals to meet the patient’s needs
- Integrate patient values, best practice, and evidence into patient care
- Engage patients and/or families in the care delivery
- Function competently within own scope of practice
- Utilize a communication style/practice to meet the needs of the team and/or the situation
Who You Are:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Current NH licensure as a Registered Nurse
- At least 1 year of Labor & Delivery
