RN Clinical Teacher – Heart & Vascular Unit

About the Job:

In collaboration with the Unit Director and as a member of the nursing leadership team, the Clinical Teacher identifies the educational needs for the staff on assigned unit and implements and evaluates educational strategies designed to meet those needs. The Clinical Teacher serves as a clinical expert to staff to facilitate the provision of patient-centered, evidence-based care to the population served. As a transformational leader, the teacher serves as a clinical role model, facilitates change and promotes an environment of teamwork and collaboration. The Clinical Teacher works in collaboration with the Clinical Development Department.

What You’ll Do:

  • Communicate effectively in a mature and respectful manner with employees, patients / family members and other healthcare disciplines to promote a positive work environment.

  • Maintain confidentiality of reported and recorded information related to departmental flow, personal considerations and patient events to ensure privacy.

  • Assess the learning needs of unit-based staff and design, implement and evaluate teaching/learning strategies to meet identified gaps in knowledge and skills.

  • Serve as a consultant and clinical expert for the patient population of the assigned unit to foster the competence of the clinical staff

  • Act as a transformational leader to facilitate change and promote an environment of teamwork and collaboration.

Who You Are:

  • BSN required.

  • MSN preferred.

  • Current New Hampshire licensure as a Registered Nurse required.

  • Specialty certification preferred.

  • Minimum of two (2) years progressive clinical experience in specialty area required.

  • Ability to achieve the following competencies within 90-days:

    • Unit-based competencies

    • Assessment and evaluation strategies

    • Class development

    • Use of teaching technologies

    • Delivery of constructive feedback

    • Timely recordkeeping
