The Birth Place at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center is an 18-room Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum unit providing family-centered care for over 1,000 births annually. As a four-time Magnet-designated facility, we uphold the highest standards of nursing excellence, guided by AWHONN best practices and supported by the OBIX Perinatal Data System for continuous fetal monitoring. Staffed 24/7 by board-certified Obstetricians and Certified Nurse Midwives, our multidisciplinary team, including RNs, LNAs, Health Unit Coordinators, lactation consultants, and pediatric and obstetric providers, delivers compassionate, expert care in a seamless environment that includes a Level II Special Care Nursery with Mass General-affiliated Neonatologists. We promote ongoing education and certification in fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and obstetric emergency management to ensure safe, personalized care for every family.
About the Job:
As a member of the Patient Care Services team, The Birth Place Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including care associated with in-unit Cesarean deliveries and gynecological procedures.
What You’ll Do:
Assess, prioritize, and implement nursing care plans that address the individual needs of mothers and infants
Establish patient-centered goals and evaluate outcomes to support safe, high-quality care
Integrate patient values, evidence-based practice, and clinical expertise into care delivery
Engage patients and families as active partners in the care process
Function competently within the RN scope of practice while maintaining professional standards
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care
Utilize communication strategies appropriate to the needs of patients, families, and healthcare team members
Who You Are / Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current New Hampshire Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of one (1) year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
