About the Job

The Patient Service Representative serves as a key member of the front desk and administrative support team within our Rehab/Clinical areas. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while managing patient-facing and clerical operations including registration, scheduling, referrals, documentation, and payment collection.

What You’ll Do

  • Greet, direct, and register patients in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and provide general information
  • Schedule appointments and enter, track, and manage referrals
  • Collect and accurately process co-payments and daily batches
  • Obtain, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information
  • Scan, index, and file documentation within the medical record
  • Process insurance requirements and communicate effectively with patients and staff
  • Schedule interpreter services, including live interpreters and translation technologies
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations
  • Stay current with EPIC upgrades, policies, and procedures
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Identify safety concerns and notify appropriate personnel
  • Provide back-up support to other administrative staff as needed
  • Attend mandatory training and in-services

Who You Are / Requirements

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of reception tasks, clinic workflows, and office procedures
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional demeanor with a caring, customer-service–focused approach
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience
  • Understanding of medical terminology
